BIOGRAPHY
British soprano Rosie Rowell made her Welsh National Opera debut in 2019 as Sister Rose (Dead Man Walking), conducted by Karen Kamensek. She returned to cover the Chief Hen and Jay in Sir David Pountney’s renowned production of The Cunning Little Vixen. Other projects with WNO have included R&D on Migrations by Will Todd and Fantastic Fables by Gareth Glyn. In 2021, Rosie made her Grange Park Opera debut as Stepanida Matuta (Ivan the Terrible), also directed by Sir David Pountney. She also sang in the chorus for La Bohème, The Life & Death of Alexander Litvinenko and Falstaff. Other roles have included Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte), Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring) and Casilda (The Gondoliers) at RWCMD and Atalanta (Xerxes) with Hampstead Garden Opera, conducted by Richard Hetherington.

TEACHING
&
COACHING

Rosie teaches from her home studio in Roath, Cardiff, and can offer lessons to students of all ages and abilities, either in person or via Zoom. Her repertoire includes classical, opera and musical theatre styles.
Rosie teaches the ABRSM syllabus and coaches for GCSE and A Level music exams, and conservatoire entrance auditions. However, she is equally happy teaching those who just want to gain confidence and express themselves through music.
